SUBMISSIONS
What can be Submitted?
It can be something that you have already created, even for another Gatchaman or Battle of the Planets project, or something completely new, really, anything at all; illustrations, pin-ups, artwork, sculptures, custom action-figures, comics, cosplay, replicas — your imagination is the only limit. Whatever your craft, if you’ve made something Gatchaman or Battle of the Planets related, I’d love to see it and I will try to include it in the book.
Anyone can send in their creative work and, with a little luck, I’ll receive enough submissions to put together a beautifully designed art book that I will self-publish and crowdfund to raise the funds to do so.
Looking forward to seeing what we can create together!

Please ensure your canvas is at least twice the printed size (See Publication Dimensions for details) and submitted in the correct file format, colour space and resolution. If you have any problems with the following guidelines, feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help you.
Existing Artwork
Please submit what you already have in the correct file format, colour space and resolution.
Adobe Illustrator (or equivalent)
- Files should be .AI or .EPS format.
- Please rasterize fonts before submitting.
Adobe Photoshop (or equivalent)
- Files should be .TIF format or high resolution .JPG format.
- Artwork resolution must be minimum of 300 dpi, although 600 dpi is preferred.
- Artificially increasing an image’s resolution in Photoshop will not improve an image’s quality.
- CMYK for colour and GRAYSCALE for black & white files with LZW compression enabled.
- Adobe Photoshop files must be flattened and should not contain any extra layers or channels.
- If you have a layered Photoshop file, please check the ZIP Compression button when saving as a .TIF file.
- When using black ink in Photoshop, please make sure that you are using “four-color black”, also known as “rich black” rather than “plain black” which is just K100. Do not exceed 300 total ink coverage. An ideal four-color black is C60 M40 Y40 K100. That total is 240. Photoshop’s default four-color black is C75 M68 Y67 K90. That total is 300.
Comic Book Lettering
Any lettering on a white background or balloon should be K100 only. In other words, it should be “plain black” and not “four-color black”.
Make sure your first and last name is on each file you send and number them sequentially.
For example: Joe Asakura 1.tif, JoeAsakura 2.tif.
SUBMISSION FORM
You must attach a completed Submissions Agreement with each submission, without it, I wont be able to consider your work for publication in the book.
If more than one contributor needs to be credited, please also include their details in the Additional Information box.
